BOSS Jason Tindall insisted Cherries had identified targets to bolster their squad for the Championship campaign and added: “We’ve got plenty of time to make sure we bring in the right players.”

The Dorset club have sold the likes of Callum Wilson, Nathan Ake and Aaron Ramsdale this summer, as well as seeing the departures of Andrew Surman, Simon Francis and Ryan Fraser from last season’s group.

Cherries have this week been reportedly linked with the likes of Ipswich striker Kayden Jackson and Charlton goalkeeper Dillon Phillips.

Asked about potential incomings, Tindall said: “Nothing close in a sense of anyone coming in in the next few days.

“It’s always a difficult task to bring players in you feel are going to improve the group you’ve got and are going to make the squad stronger.

“When you are looking for those players who fit that bill, it does become difficult. There’s a lot of hurdles you need to get over to make that happen.

“We’ve identified two or three players we feel would enhance the group and if we can do that then I’d be delighted.

“But at the same time we don’t want to jump in and make any rash decisions because there’s a lot of players that are available during these times in the world with what’s going on.

“Probably it makes it a little easier in terms of the availability of players. The transfer window has still got a few weeks to go and we’ve got plenty of time to make sure we bring in the right players.”

Cherries start their league campaign with a home clash with Blackburn tomorrow (3pm).

Quizzed on whether he felt his side was well equipped ahead of the season, he replied: “We’ve got a good squad. There are obviously some very good players who have left the football club, players that are very difficult to replace.

“But we’ve got a very good squad here and from what I’ve seen the past couple of weeks and only judging the pre-season performances, I’ve been very pleased with the group and what I’ve seen.

“I am sure the players themselves have been on the training ground have been thinking the same thing.

“Do I think we need a couple more players? Of course. I think with the season ahead, with the amount of games we’ve got, your squad’s going to be so important. You need quality players to call upon any time.”
