LEICESTER City have "jumped ahead of Manchester United" and are now "leading" the race to sign Cherries star David Brooks, according to a report in the Manchester Evening News.
Wales international Brooks, 23, has been heavily linked with a move away in this window following relegation from the Premier League.
And the report claims Brooks "expects to receive an offer" from Leicester in the coming weeks, with Man Utd still prioritising a deal for Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho instead.
The News continue to say while United have considered Brooks "among their options this summer", he is more likely to join the Foxes with Brendan Rodgers said to be a "huge admirer" of the former Sheffield United man's talents.
It is claimed the Welshman could cost "upwards of £35million", should he be sold from Cherries.
Brooks came through 76 minutes unscathed for Wales at the weekend and is in line to feature in the Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers at Vitality Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
