BRITISH star Chris Harris said he would never rule out a return to ride for Pirates and added: “I would definitely consider talking in the future.”

The three-time British champion was a driving force behind Poole’s memorable 2018 SGB Premiership victory.

Harris revealed he was contacted about terms to ride at Wimborne Road in this season’s SGB Championship.

And while he is set to compete for Birmingham and Peterborough this season, the Truro-born charger admitted he was open to a potential return to Pirates in the future.

Speaking on Poole’s official website about a possible return, Harris said: “I did speak to Matt (Ford, owner) but with the travelling at the minute and having a new one on the way this year, with Cruz in January, I just wanted to try and keep a bit closer to home for my home meetings at the minute. Just to spend a bit more time with the family.

“But I would definitely never rule it out to go back there. I really enjoyed my time there. I have always got on with Matt in all the years I’ve raced against Poole.

“He has always come over and made us feel welcome when the wife goes down there as well. I would definitely consider talking in the future if it ever came round again.”
