CHERRIES full-back Adam Smith believes talented playmaker David Brooks has “got everything” and added: “I could see him going to a top team.”

Brooks is waiting to make his eagerly-anticipated comeback from an ankle injury, if and when the Premier League can resume this season.

He has now gone more than 12 months without playing a competitive game at club level – but was back in training with Eddie Howe’s men before the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking about the Wales international, Smith told talkSPORT: “I said it from day one when he first joined, what a talent he was. You saw that in his first season in the Premier League.

“He’s honestly got everything. His balance, his left foot, he scores and he assists. He is still only 22 so, honestly, I could see him going to a top team, definitely.

“Obviously, it’s been a difficult situation for him this season with his ankle injury, which has been a hindrance for us as well.

“He was a big player for us last season and we have had a lot of injuries to a lot of big players this season and that’s not helped.”
