CHERRIES full-back Adam Smith said living in lockdown had “made me realise family is the most important thing”.

The 29-year-old has been training from home amid the coronavirus pandemic, as well as spending time with his partner and young son.

And the Cherries star admitted time away from the game had made him see things from a different perspective.

He told talkSPORT: “Football is in it’s own bubble I think and it’s actually been quite refreshing to spend time with my family, especially my son.

“I don’t see him all the time when we are travelling and training all day and I had not really had that bond with him.

“But since this lockdown I think I have connected with him more and got more of a bond with him.

“It’s made me realise family is the most important thing.”

He added: “Football is definitely not the most important thing in life. It’s a great thing to have as a job, I know I’m lucky to have it and be able to play in the Premier League.

“But it’s not the most important thing. Health and happiness is the most important thing in life and watching your kids grow up – and having good times.”
