EDDIE Howe says Brooklyn Genesini's first involvement with the senior side will be "one I'm sure he'll remember", adding: "He's got real ability".
The teenage defender was a surprise inclusion among the substitutes for Monday night's FA Cup clash with Arsenal at Vitality Stadium.
Yeovil-born Genesini was invited to train with the first team following impressive displays in the FA Youth Cup wins over Barnet and Cardiff for Alan Connell's under-18s.
And despite not bringing him on for a debut against the Gunners, Howe hopes the 18-year-old relished the opportunity of being a part of the squad.
The Cherries boss told the Daily Echo: "It was a nice moment for him just to sample it, experience what it's like to be part of the first team.
"I think he's got real ability and good potential for the future.
"It's a small step for him, but one I'm sure he'll remember."
Genesini was back in action on Tuesday in the under-18s' 1-1 draw with Forest Green, with boss Connell telling the Cherries website how "Brook was almost speechless" when he received his senior call-up.
