MARK Travers praised the hard work of team-mate Alex Dobre, adding how he was “delighted” to see him make his first-team debut.
The Romanian winger has featured regularly alongside Travers for Cherries under-21s in recent years and the pair shared the pitch for the senior side against Luton Town in the FA Cup earlier this month.
Dobre, who had been an unused substitute in two Premier League fixtures and two Carabao Cup ties earlier this term, finally got his chance to impress after replacing Ryan Fraser for the final 10 minutes of the 4-0 win over the Hatters.
Discussing the 21-year-old, goalkeeper Travers told the Daily Echo: “He’s very confident. He works so hard on and off the pitch and he’s a great guy. I get on well with him. I think all the lads were buzzing for him to get his debut against Luton.
“He’s been doing great with the under-21s, scoring loads of goals and the manager always rewards people who do well.
“I’m just delighted for Dobre to make his debut and hopefully he can kick on now.”
