HEAD coach Kevin Thorniley hailed the “world class” body shot which saw Lee Cutler maintain his unbeaten professional record.

The Parkstone-based puncher took less than two rounds to dismantle Stoke’s Owen Jobburn when he headlined Steve Bendall’s ‘Winter Is Coming’ show at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth.

Middleweight Cutler, who also dropped Jobburn with a right hand in the opening round, now has seven wins from as many fights since turning pro last year.

Four of those victories have come inside the scheduled distance.

Thorniley told the Daily Echo: “Lee looked razor sharp and the finishing was clinical.

“The first round in particular was a great show of boxing intelligence and the body shot that finished it was a genuinely world class finishing punch.

“Lee is going from strength to strength, training harder and harder every training camp and learning all the time.

“He is eager to go on now and snap up titles like our friend Chris Billam-Smith has done recently.”

Elsewhere on the card, Poole’s Jack Simpson made short work of Greenwich’s Shaun Watt, forcing him to retire after just two rounds of a middleweight contest.

“Jack was disappointed with how it was brought to an end and that he didn't get a chance to finish things in a style he wanted,” added Thorniley.

“But a win is a win and he is looking and feeling better than ever, as he finishes 2019 with two wins out of two.”

There were also victories for the likes of Umar Sadiq, Jimmy Cooper and Dean Dodge throughout the card.

Thorniley said: “The Bendall’s show itself was a great success and was great to see so much vocal support for the local boxers.”
