BELLE Vue have swooped to sign former Pirates star Brady Kurtz.

Kurtz makes the switch to Manchester after spending the last four years at Premiership level with Poole.

Manager Mark Lemon said: “Signing Brady is a real coup for the Aces.

“He is a big talent and has a big future in the sport and will be no longer a thorn in our side as we have witnessed in recent times on his visits to the National Speedway Stadium with the Pirates.

“I believe we are in for a real treat with this signature, a move that will suit both Brady and Belle Vue.”

Three more of Pirates' class of 2019 have also been snapped up ahead of the 2020 season.

SGB Premiership new-boys Sheffield Tigers, who have already signed former Poole skipper Josh Grajczonek, have added fellow Aussie Jack Holder to their ranks.

Sheffield co-promoter Damien Bates said: “We are delighted to welcome Jack.

“He’s the perfect addition to the lads we already have in the side and he knows them all pretty well.

“I’m very excited by the way the team-building is developing and we will have more news on that score later this week.”

Meanwhile, Poole's Championship rivals Birmingham have completed their line-up with the signing of Thomas H Jonasson.

Manager Laurence Rogers said: “When we were putting this team together we looked at riders who we feel are capable of improving their starting average.

“Thomas can certainly do just that, and at Championship level especially there is no reason whatsoever why he can’t become a genuine heat-leader."

And American Ricky Wells has joined up with Glasgow Tigers, after three years with fierce rivals Edinburgh.

The American heads to Ashfield on a 7.05 average.
