EDDIE Howe revealed David Brooks took “a slight twist” to his ankle in Saturday’s 3-1 victory at Brentford – but was hopeful the attacking midfielder would remain fit.

Brooks was replaced by Sam Surridge after 71 minutes having picked up the knock at Griffin Park.

Speaking to afcbTV after the contest, manager Howe said: “The most important thing is the players come through without any injuries – that’s always the priority and of course then you are looking for the performance and everything else on the back of that.

“Hopefully they got all of those things.

“David Brooks took a slight twist to his ankle but hopefully he’s okay, other than that I think we are fine.”

Brooks will hope to be available for Cherries Premier League curtain-raiser against his former club Sheffield United on August 10.
