DANNY Ford admitted it had been “fantastic” to hear the Wimborne Road track had improved.
The surface had come under criticism earlier in the campaign following two separate bank holiday fixtures against Swindon.
But in-form Josh Grajczonek told BT Sport Pirates’ home surface had been “100 times better” following track work than in previous meetings.
He said: “It’s 100 times better than what it was.
“It’s a lot smoother. Our meeting there last Thursday (against Belle Vue) was a lot better. There were a few passes and we hadn’t had that for a while because, as everyone has seen, it’s been a little bit rough.”
Reacting to the Poole captain’s comment, Ford told the Daily Echo: “It’s absolutely fantastic to hear that.
“We have invested extensively in getting the track sorted. We had a laser grader come in and take a few inches off the top to hopefully get rid of the waves and bumps and then we put down new material.
“All of our boys will go out there and give it their all but it’s good to hear that it’s an improvement.”
Pirates tomorrow host King's Lynn in the SGB Premiership (7.30pm).
