CHERRIES are said to be “weighing up a swoop” for Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing, according to a report in the Mirror.

The publication claims boss Eddie Howe is a “big admirer” of the Danish star, who featured when the Dorset club twice beat the Terriers last season.

Billing made 27 Premier League appearances for Huddersfield during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring in games against Everton and Southampton.

The 23-year-old however failed to keep the Yorkshire side in the top flight, with the tabloid claiming he is “up for grabs” this summer.

Earlier this year, Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reported Billing had been set to seek a new challenge away from John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking to that publication, he said: “I have been in Huddersfield for a long time, so this summer it is time to try a new challenge.

“I’ll try something new. The Premier League is great and I love the English football culture. I know there is interest from others in the UK and abroad.”

Cherries have already bolstered their squad in the off-season with the addition of defender Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City.
