JAY Dasilva believes fellow England under-21 international Lloyd Kelly “can go a long way” after his move to Cherries.
Defender Kelly last month completed the switch from Bristol City to the Dorset club, for a fee understood to be around £13million.
The talented 20-year-old is currently at the European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino as part of the Young Lions squad.
Kelly was an unused substitute in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to France, with Chelsea prospect Dasilva occupying the left-back berth in Aidy Boothroyd’s side.
Cherries’ first signing of the summer tomorrow could feature in a crunch fixture against Romania in Cesena (5.30pm).
And Dasilva, who completed a season-long loan at Ashton Gate in 2018-19, backed Kelly to show his class in the Premier League.
In an interview with Bristol Live, Dasilva said: “I’m very pleased for him; he deserves it, he is a top player and a top professional.
“He can go a long way, definitely. He has got a lot of qualities and I think he will show that soon.
“To be fair he is quite versatile, it is good for him to be comfortable at left-back and at centre-back. That is only a good thing for him, to be fair.”
