CHERRIES star Jefferson Lerma was an unused substitute for Colombia as they clinched their place in the knockout stage of the Copa America.

A late Duvan Zapata goal earned Colombia a 1-0 victory over Qatar in Sao Paulo on Wednesday night.

Carlos Queiroz’s side are the first to qualify for the last eight of the competition as Group B winners with a game to spare.

In the knockout phase, they will return to Sao Paulo to face the Group C runner-up after reaching the quarter-finals for the fourth Copa America in a row.

Colombia on Sunday conclude their group matches against Paraguay (8pm).
