POOLE Phoenix handball team-mates Joe Trent and Joseph Sanyal have been selected to represent Great Britain.
The pair will fly to Sweden with the GB under-18 squad to compete in the European Open this July.
They will be facing Sweden, Czech Republic, Russia, Switzerland and Luxembourg at the event, with the group draw already made.
Both Sanyal and Trent played a good standard of football locally before hanging up their shin pads to concentrate fully on handball.
Trent was introduced to the sport when he was 13 at Lockyers Middle School, Sanyal first tried handball when he was 14 at Poole Phoenix.
The national squad are currently crowdfunding and would be grateful to any person or business willing to help.
