CHERRIES are “braced for a £40million move from Tottenham” for defender Nathan Ake, according to a report in The Sun.

The publication claims Spurs are “favourites” to land the Netherlands international, who is currently part of Ronald Koeman’s national squad for tonight’s Nations League final against Portugal.

Former Chelsea man Ake has been touted as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, according to the report.

The Sun also insists Manchester United are “tracking” the former Feyenoord youngster – while Spurs have also “kept an eye on” Cherries stars Callum Wilson and David Brooks.

Ake has been a model of consistency for Eddie Howe’s men having joined from Chelsea for £20million in June 2017, following a successful loan spell at Vitality Stadium.

He has featured in every Premier League game for the Dorset club since his permanent arrival and missed just eight top-flight minutes during the 2018-19 campaign.

Asked about transfer speculation back in January, Ake told the Daily Echo: “Rumours are going to come at one point. They are just rumours and won’t affect me.”
