Goalkeeper Jordan Holmes says he will go "anywhere that guarantees games" as he prepares to leave Cherries at the end of this month.

The Aussie was one of five players announced in this week's retained list as departing at the end of their deals later this month with Marc Pugh, Tom Parker-Trott, Nathan Clements and James Boote also leaving.

Holmes, 22, moved from Australia to join the Cherries academy in 2013 and did make the bench for the first team, but never made his competitive senior debut.

After loan spells at non-league Weymouth and Eastbourne, Holmes spent the second half of the 2018-19 campaign at Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren but failed to make an appearance for Oran Kearney's side.

Speaking to Australian website FTBL, Holmes said: "I have turned down a contract at Bournemouth so currently speaking to other clubs. I need guaranteed game-time now.

"It was a very good experience (at St Mirren). I benefited massively from it.

"St Mirren is a good club, a family club. It was great to be a part of it."

Asked where he would like to move to next, Holmes added: "Anywhere honestly. Anywhere that guarantees games."
