Cherries are interested in a permanent deal for defender Nathaniel Clyne, according to Sky Sports.

The Liverpool full-back spent the second half of the 2018-19 campaign with Eddie Howe's men and made 15 appearances in league and cup.

Clyne, 28, has 14 England caps and has reportedly attracted interest from Napoli, Crystal Palace and West Ham, as well as Cherries.

Liverpool are said to want £15million for the defender.

Discussing the impact Clyne had during his spell with Cherries, boss Howe said: “I really like Nathaniel.

“I think he’s done really well for us.

“He came in at a time when we were really keen to just give the squad a boost with the injuries we had suffered.

“We obviously needed defenders at that stage of the season.

“I think the signings of him and Chris Mepham were huge for us.”

Asked whether he could make a move for Clyne in the summer, Howe added: “He’s shown versatility. He’s played different positions and he’s been very good around the changing room so we’ll wait and see on that one.”
