EDDIE Howe insists Dominic Solanke’s search for his first Cherries goal “doesn’t concern me in any way”.

Since arriving from Liverpool in January for an initial fee of around £17.5million, the striker is still yet to find the net in red and black.

A one-time England senior international, Solanke has netted once at Vitality Stadium, scoring for the national team’s under-21s in a friendly against Germany in March.

The Basingstoke-born frontman has battled against injury since moving to the south coast, but has now featured in each of the last six Premier League matches.

Solanke has been largely restricted to cameos off the bench with just two of his nine Premier League appearances so far coming from the start, playing a total of 329 minutes for Cherries, including half an hour in defeat to Fulham on Saturday.

Despite having not scored in club football since a goal for Liverpool in May 2018, the only time he’s netted in the top flight, Howe has been pleased with the impact of the striker.

Asked whether he had been worried about Solanke’s wait for a first goal, Howe told the Daily Echo: “It doesn’t concern me in any way.

“Dominic naturally will want that goal but I think he will score many goals for this football club in the future, if he continues to work, improve and show the right attitude.

“I think he’s got all the attributes.

“I think he’s done very well. He’s impacted key games.

“If you look at the Newcastle game (a 2-2 draw), he had a huge impact when he came on. Huddersfield away (a 2-0 win) he did very well when he came on. He came on against Brighton (a 5-0 win) recently and did very well.

“I think the challenge for him is whenever he gets that opportunity to play, whether it is from the start or from the bench, that he impresses and then his career will only go one way.”
