OLLY Balmer’s brace proved not enough as Hamworthy United were knocked out on penalties at the semi-final stage of the Sydenhams League Cup.
Hammers fell to 10-man Baffins Milton Rovers after a 2-2 draw at Specsavers County Ground.
Balmer had fired Alan Lay’s charges ahead after just two minutes before Baffins replied though Callum Dart.
Max Paddon then put the visitors ahead before they had a man sent off just before the interval.
With the numerical advantage, the hosts rallied and Balmer bagged his second from the penalty spot on 51 minutes.
But with the contest remaining deadlocked, Baffins held their nerve in the shootout to progress to the final, where they will meet Portland United.
