NATHANIEL Clyne said he had not intended to cause hurt after moving to Cherries on loan instead of Cardiff City.
Clyne last week joined the Vitality Stadium club on a temporary basis from Liverpool, a switch which infuriated Cardiff boss Neil Warnock.
The 70-year-old claimed he had been “promised” the full-back on loan, before discovering on television that he had joined Cherries.
Warnock accused Liverpool of “a lack of class” and said he had been disappointed not to receive a phone call from the Reds or from Clyne.
However, Warnock’s attitude appeared to have softened in the week after the shock FA Cup defeat to Gillingham.
He said: "I know I got criticised for saying that about Liverpool and Clyne but all I needed was a phone call to say he was going to Bournemouth.
"If I had a choice of going to Bournemouth and Cardiff, I'd snap their hand off to work for the manager (Eddie Howe) there.
"I don't blame Nathaniel for going there at all. They are a great club and are established."
Clyne, who had been given his senior debut by Warnock while at Crystal Palace, said: “My intention wasn’t to hurt anyone in any way – it was just down to footballing reasons.
“We have a good relationship. I enjoyed working with him at Crystal Palace. I have a lot of respect for the man.
“It was just down to footballing reasons between Bournemouth and Liverpool and I came here.”
