TOM Killick admits he cannot see himself managing anywhere other than Poole Town as he prepares for a remarkable 800th game in charge.

The 49-year-old is tomorrow set to lead Dolphins into battle against visitors Dorchester Town in Southern League South, nearly 15 years after taking the helm.

An FA Vase winner as a player, Killick has as Poole boss presided over four promotions, five league titles, four cup triumphs and just one relegation.

And Killick, who possesses a 62 per cent win ratio in all competitions, says he feels far advanced in his managerial career.

He told the Daily Echo: “There are different ways of looking at it. I am much closer to the end of it all than I am the beginning.

“It’s not something I think about too much. It’s what you think about when it’s all finished, whether that’s sooner or later. There will be plenty of time to reflect on that.

“I’ve done 800 games and I’m not going to do another 800, that’s for sure.

“At the moment I still feel very motivated to carry on. I’ve been doing it a long time and I couldn’t see me going anywhere else.

“I love the club and have had a lot of good times at the club so I am grateful I have been allowed to do it for so long.”

Poole will hope to reignite their chase for the play-offs against lowly Dorchester having gone five games without a win.

Killick added: “I feel it’s wrong to reflect on the 800 games too much because we are having a difficult time.

“My focus is on trying to improve things rather than worry about how many games I have done.”
