CHERRIES winger Ryan Fraser backed defender Charlie Daniels to “come back stronger” following his costly error at Wolves.

Daniels gave away possession in a dangerous area and Diogo Jota's strike fell kindly for Raul Jimenez to tuck home a 12th-minute opener. Ivan Cavaleiro’s late goal on the counter sealed a 2-0 win for the hosts.

But Fraser, who alongside Daniels has risen through the divisions at Cherries, believes his team-mate will bounce back.

He told the Daily Echo: “He is a top professional and if he’s made a mistake, he’s made a mistake. We all make mistakes, you don’t want to tell him about it, he knows himself.

“He will get on with it, come back stronger and we will all come back stronger. The way we play it is always going to happen. It happened and we need to move on.

“When you give away goals at a high level, it’s difficult to come back in a match.

“We were always going to have a lot of the ball but sometimes we need to see it out a little longer and not give cheap things away.”

Six defeats in seven top-flight contests has seen Cherries slip to 11th in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe’s men visit Chelsea in a Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday before hosting Brighton in the top flight on Saturday.

“I think we are in a little dip at the moment," said the Scotland international.

"We have been playing the big teams but, even when we won 2-1 against Huddersfield, it still wasn’t that great a performance.

“We need to liven up a little bit. Confidence is a little bit gone.

“Sometimes things come off for you and sometimes they don’t. You try to put your finger on it as a player but at the same time you can’t.

“On another day you will try something even more stupid and it will come off.

“We will just focus on this week, try to win the Chelsea game and then the big one on Saturday as well.”

Fraser played 90 minutes at Stamford Bridge last season as Cherries bowed out of the last eight of the competition following a 2-1 defeat.

Willian’s opener was cancelled out by Dan Gosling in the 90th minute before Spanish frontman Alvaro Morata sealed a dramatic victory for the Blues a minute later.

“We need to try to enjoy the game. There is no point in being a footballer if you don’t enjoy the game,” added the 24-year-old.

“I personally think the more games the better, so you don’t drag out the whole week. I like it when there are midweek games.

“Hopefully, whoever plays can do a good job.”
