SHAUN Cooper watched Cherries under-23s draw 1-1 at Liverpool before admitting his team could play “a lot better”.
Cherries trailed in the Premier League Cup clash after Rafael Camacho’s effort but Kyle Taylor’s stunning volley with 10 minutes to go salvaged a point.
Sunday’s draw left the Dorset club top of Group C after three games.
Taylor was joined at Liverpool Academy by fellow first-teamers Aaron Ramsdale, Marc Pugh and Jack Simpson.
Cooper told the club website: “The pleasing thing was that we could have played a lot better.
“We got in good areas with good passages of play and didn’t quite capitalise on them.
“From that perspective, it was pleasing and disappointing at the same time. Credit to the boys for a good result but we still want better.
“Kyle’s goal was a brilliant finish. We all know Kyle’s quality and he delivered a great hit when it mattered.”
