STRIKER Luke Stone continued his sublime form for Hamworthy United with a hat-trick against Poppies.

His goals helped the hosts record an enthralling 6-2 Wessex Premier victory at Specsavers County Ground, earning their seventh win from 14 league games this season.

Mark Jamison, Sam Bayston and Jack Delves also netted for Callum Brooks’s charges. Ali Zintany struck a penalty and Stepan Neronski scored for the visitors.

Victory saw Hammers climb to seventh in the table. They are three points behind Poppies, who still occupy a top-five spot.

Lymington came from behind to seal derby spoils with a 4-1 victory over Bashley.

Dan Munday had opened the scoring for the visitors at the Sports Ground before Jake King and Mike Gosney both bagged doubles to wrap up three points for the hosts.

Lymington are now ninth in the table, with 21 points from 16 league games.

Mitchell Speechley-Price’s late goal was not enough for Brockenhurst as the Badgers fell to a 2-1 home reverse against Fareham.

Simon Woods and Dan Brock’s goals earned victory for the hosts.

Brockenhurst’s eighth league defeat of the campaign meant they slipped to 11th spot in the standings.
