RYAN Fraser helped Scotland seal promotion to Group B of the UEFA Nations League.

The Cherries winger provided two assists for hat-trick hero James Forrest at Hampden park, as Alex McLeish’s side ran out 3-2 winners over Israel.

Victory, in which the diminutive wideman played 90 minutes, also earned the hosts a Euro 2020 play-off spot.

Fraser told TalkSPORT: “We obviously had to win it because they could’ve got through with a draw. But I thought we deserved it and we were good going forward.

“We’ve got a young team and not a lot of experience. When you’re 3-1 up, it’s not easy to see out a game in international football and to get the positive result in the end.

“It’s a fantastic achievement. It will give Scottish fans, and us, a lot of confidence.”

The 24-year-old now has nine assists for club and country this season.

“I’m just trying to enjoy my football at the moment, I know it’s easy to say that,” added Fraser.

“I’m trying not to think about my performance, or goals and assists, too much. I just want to win every game and enjoy it. If you do that the rest goes with it.”

Meanwhile, Cherries defender Jack Simpson made his England under-21 debut in a 5-1 victory over Denmark.

The 21-year-old completed 90 minutes for Aidy Boothroyd's team in Esbjerg.

Dominic Solanke and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both scored twice, Demarai Gray was also on target for the visitors.

Simpson's club team-mate Lewis Cook captained England during the friendly at Blue Water Arena before he was substituted in the 71st minute.

England under-21s discover their opponents for Euro 2019 when the draw is held in Bologna on Friday.

The Young Lions, who reached the semi-finals of Euro 2017, will be one of the favourites in Italy and San Marino.

Attacking midfielder David Brooks played 59 minutes for Wales in their 1-0 friendly defeat to Albania.

Bekim Balaj's 59th-minute penalty condemned Ryan Giggs’s side to a shock reverse in in Elbasan.
