COACH James Croker claimed sole responsibility for Oakmeadians' 41-26 Southern Counties South defeat at North Dorset.

Croker made a tactical switch for Saturday's encounter, shifting fly-half Jerry Cook to full-back and calling on an inexperienced midfield of Jamie Tryska, Ryan Stephenson and Mike Notobartolo.

But the newly-appointed Oaks coach admitted his selection may have cost the Meyrick Park side the points.

Croker said: "I made a few bad calls. It was a really young midfield and I really should have kept Jerry in there for his experience.

"I'm not pleased about the result but I am relieved because it's burst our bubble a little bit.

"Everyone was walking around with a kind of cockiness about them, but their reaction has been a positive one since Saturday and I'll be looking for a backlash against Ivel Barbarians this weekend."

Mark Stephenson, Ryan Stephenson, Tom Morgan, Mike Garrett and three Jerry Cook conversions were sandwiched between a barrage of pressure from the home side.

Oaks: Cook, Kurewaka, Morgan, R Stephenson, Notobartolo, Tryska, Harman, Hokianga, McMahon, Hennings, Raileanu, Stradwick, Garrett, M Stephenson, Riley. Subs: Rakora, Blackburn, Hudson.
