BOSS Christer Warren is backing his troops to see Wimborne Town through their mounting injury crisis.

The Magpies host Wessex League rivals Lymington Town tonight without the services of six first-choice players (7.45pm kick-off).

Injuries to Josh Thomas, Sam Percival, Scott Arnold, Carl Poore and Stuart Langrish, coupled with Tommy McCormick's suspension, has left Warren thin on the ground. But despite only being able to name four substitutes against Lymington, Warren believes the players left standing are more than capable of producing the goods.

He told the Daily Echo: "It's going to be another tough game but if we get our attitude right from the start then I think we've got more than enough to cause them problems.

"All the players missing would get into most other Wessex teams and when you take them away, you are going to miss them. But it gives the other lads a chance to show what they can do."

The Magpies are currently 16 points adrift of leaders Poole, but host Lymington in one of their four games in hand on the Dolphins.

Warren added: "I've been happy with how things have been ticking along in the league. The only disappointment was the defeat by Poole and if we keep doing what we're doing, we won't be too far away."

BASEMENT BATTLE Rival managers Trevor Parker and Bob Lane have a difference of opinion over the significance of New Milton Town's basement battle with Ringwood Town at Fawcett's Field (7.45pm kick-off).

Ringwood boss Lane has described the clash as "must win" for his charges, while Parker sees the derby as "a game that we've got to get something from".

Second-from-bottom New Milton have mustered just three points from 12 games, while Ringwood are one place above them having collected four points from 11. Downton are rooted to the foot with just one point but do have games in hand on both.

Lane said: "There are some strong teams in this division and we've had some very hard games. While we will try to compete with those teams, realistically, if we are going to achieve anything, we've got to beat the teams around us."

Parker said: "Neither side can go into the game with too much confidence but we are looking forward to it and are getting better every week. We will win sooner or later and hopefully it will be against Ringwood - but I wouldn't put a lot of money on it."
