COBHAM Sports manager Graham Trevett was ecstatic to see his side's luck take a positive swing, after they triumphed 4-3 at Sturminster Marshall on Saturday.

Stuart Morrell headed Cobham in front after 24 minutes, before Sam Bridgeman's 20-yard drive levelled matters on 26.

Darrell Williams turned the match on its head just two minutes later to make it 2-1.

Danny Payne then raced from the halfway line, leaving two Marshall defenders for dead to hit an equaliser on 32.

The home side regained their advantage just two minutes later, when Mark Henson slotted home from close range.

But Marshall were left to rue two massive mistakes by their goalkeeper, which allowed Luke Dawe to notch two inside a minute on 77.

This huge slice of fortune left Trevett celebrating a result he felt Cobham's performance deserved.

He said: "It was about time we had a bit of luck because we have been playing like that every week.

"We just haven't had the results to show for it.

"It was nice to grab a win and I was particularly pleased with the way we played in the second half.

"In the last four games, we have been leading at half time and conceded early in the second half.

"So it makes a change for us to be able to turn things around and come back for once."

Although Sports have scored 19 goals from eight matches so far this term, they have conceded 17 at the other end.

Some might point the finger at Trevett's defenders for this.

But the manager believes everyone has to take some responsibility for their leaky record.

He added: "To be fair, our defence has been playing really well but we have struggled to hold the ball up.

"I nearly committed myself to St Anne's, when I saw such a chaotic end to the first half!

"But the second half was better and I'm confident we can get things right."

SWANS OFF THE MARK Swanage Town and Herston picked up their first three points of the season, with a last gasp 2-1 triumph at Cranborne.

Aaron Corby fired Swans in front after 24 minutes but James Antell levelled on 38.

The visitors dominated the second half but did not snatch the spoils until 30 seconds from the death, when Jacob Harrop struck.

Meanwhile, Hamworthy Recreation went top of the standings with a 1-0 victory at defending champions Westland Sports.

Simon Brett stole the points two minutes from time to put Rec one clear of second placed Poole Borough.

The Hornets stumbled at Turlin Moor, where they were held 1-1 by Sturminster Newton United.

Robert Froud sent the visitors in front just before the break but Ross Mills rescued a point for Borough on 54.

SECOND-HALF BLUES Blandford United remain rock bottom of the table, after surrendering a 1-0 half-time lead to lose 4-1 at home to Hamworthy United.

Jamie Filkins put Jamie Murray's men ahead on 38 but a Saul Boulton own goal shortly after the break put Hammers level.

This gave them total control of the match, allowing Dan Baguley to hit a brace and Lee Cornick to seal the points.

In the day's other game, Portland United defeated second from bottom visitors Wincanton Town 1-0.
