RINGWOOD'S fight to climb away from the relegation zone took a nosedive when they conceded a late winner against Horndean.

Mike Carroll had given Ringwood a first-minute lead with a brilliant volley only for Paul Baker to equaliser after the break with a penalty.

Carroll fired Ringwood in front again on the hour with a penalty awarded for handball.

But Adam Rutland was left unmarked at the far post to level again for Horndean in the 79th minute.

Graham Lindsey took advantage of a poor throw out by Ringwood goalkeeper Dean Lewis that went straight to him to grab Horndean's winner and get them out of jail.

Ringwood manager Bob Lane said: "To lose after leading 2-1 with 11 minutes to go is very disappointing."

Ringwood: Lewis, Godwin, Brunnen, Wright, Russon, Finlay, Gogan (Howes 75), Sajic (Dronyk 60), Greaves (Burrett 80), Carroll, Foster.
