SCOTT Mitchell is set to spend time on both the stage and sunbed as he looks to turn up the heat at the Turkish Open.

The Bransgore thrower is this week is due to compete at Limak Limra Hotel & Resort in Kemer.

Temperatures at the complex are forecast to reach 28 degrees Celsius while Scotty Dog and wife Sharon are in attendance.

He told the Daily Echo: “It’s a bit of a holiday one but there is money and ranking points on it – hopefully I can go out there and mix the two.

“The wife is coming with me. She put her foot down and said ‘I’m coming to this one’ so I have my manager out there!

“There are so many times that Sharon doesn’t get to come. The kids are off this week and they are holding the fort so we can have a few days away and take stock of what’s gone on in a busy year. I am looking forward to it.

“The darts is played in the evening because it’s too hot during the day to play. The sun goes down and the darts come out.

“Relaxing around the pool is not really something we do in the UK before darts! I have never had the opportunity to jump off a sunbed and get the darts out.

“It will all be new and something we will enjoy I think.”

Mitchell will be looking to maintain his impressive recent form.

The 48-year-old was crowned BDO Gold Cup champion earlier this year and also reached the semi-final of the World Masters at the start of this month.
