KING’S Lynn co-promoter Robin Brundle congratulated Pirates on title success and said speedway had also been a winner following Wednesday’s play-off final second leg.
Pirates held their nerve to claim the eighth league crown of the Matt Ford-Neil Middleditch era, edging out their hosts 92-88 on aggregate following a 51-39 defeat in Norfolk.
Brundle told the club website: “Congratulations to Poole, first and foremost. It is a fine achievement.
“It was a very competitive final, providing great entertainment and tremendous exposure for the sport.
“It takes two top teams to make a final like that and we almost pulled it off.
“It’s been an amazing season for us, finishing top of the Premiership table and now being silver medal winners.
“This is a great result and one which also validates our template for success in 2019.”
King’s Lynn could yet end the season with a trophy in the cabinet as they have a Knockout Cup final against Somerset to look forward to.
