CHERRIES striker Callum Wilson revealed how his goal against 10-man Watford had been a training ground special.

The 26-year-old bagged his fourth goal in nine outings this season when he rounded off the scoring in the 4-0 rout at Vicarage Road.

Wilson brilliantly controlled Ryan Fraser’s cross and tapped home with keeper Ben Foster off limits.

The ex-Coventry hitman had already been superbly denied by Foster moments before David Brooks broke the deadlock and he also headed wide a presentable opportunity.

Discussing his goal, Wilson told the club website: “We look to do that ball sometimes in training. The Wee Man played it in and it was a bit far in front of me for my head so I had to use my foot.

“I think the keeper gambled and tried to read it and to my delight I managed to put it in because he was nowhere to be seen.

“As a striker, it’s always nice to get on the scoresheet. First and foremost, your focus is on the team and your own performance.

“You keep plugging away and you get there in the end. It’s a nice bit of confidence going into the international break, where we will be working hard to come back even better.”
