BOURNEMOUTH’S Denise Castle is preparing for the fight of her life – a duel with Fabiana Bytyqi for the vacant WBC world atomweight crown.

The duo are set to meet in the Czech city of Usti nad Labem on Saturday, September 22 in what will be Castle’s second shot at a WBC world title.

Her last attempt saw her defeated by Japan’s Momo Koseki in Tokyo four years ago. But the title became vacant earlier this year after Koseki elected to move to a different weight division.

Southpaw Castle has won two of three professional fights, both victories coming by knockout.

Named the WBC’s most inspirational athlete of the year in 2013, the 46-year-old is already a world champion in muaythai.

Bytyqi, a precision counter-puncher, has dropped down from minimumweight to face Castle.

The explosive fighter, who at 22 is more than half her opponent’s age, last year won the WBC Silver and WBC Youth crowns.

She has taken victory in all 12 of her fights, five by knockout.

Bytyqi lives in Usti nad Labem and is expected to be roared on by a vocal home support.
