PIRATES’ place in the SGB Premiership play-offs could be confirmed tomorrow.

Injury-hit Wolverhampton need to secure victory at home to King’s Lynn, otherwise Poole will be certain of a spot in the top four.

The Wimborne Road side already know that only a mathematical miracle would see them denied a play-off berth.

King’s Lynn have won 10 of their past 11 league meetings and have been tipped by Pirates boss Matt Ford to top the standings.

Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “King’s Lynn looked very strong when we raced there recently and are probably the team to beat on current form.

“They are gunning for top position and no doubt will be after points at our place.

“We owe it to ourselves and the opposition to do the best we can. It is a huge match and one we need to win.”

Meanwhile, Pirates star Chris Harris helped Great Britain win silver in Saturday’s Team Long Track World Championship at French circuit Morizes.

He skippered a quartet which included Swindon duo Adam Ellis and Zach Wajtknecht, with former Poole reserve James Shanes top scoring for Team GB.

France won gold, with 2017 champions Germany third.

Result: France 54, Great Britain 46, Germany 38, Netherlands 34, Czech Republic 32, Sweden 21.
