CHRISTER Warren expects his Wimborne Town side to bounce back from their "slight blip" with a good performance in the FA Cup tomorrow.

Wimborne were beaten 2-0 by Poole Town on Monday and Warren hopes to see a positive response from his charges at Brislington (3pm) in the preliminary round of the world's leading domestic cup competiton.

Warren said: "You learn more about players after a game like that (against Poole) than you do from the way we had been playing (four wins out of four).

"We've had a slight blip, hopefully the lads will react in a positive way.

"I expect the positive response, otherwise I wouldn't have the players at the club, I believe in them 100 per cent."

Warren thinks the benefits of a run in the cup stretch further than the financial rewards on offer.

"The revenue you get is nice for the club and it's nice for the players because it's one of the best cups in the world," he said.

"If you get a nice run, it's good and you never know who you could come up against."

Brislington are mid-table in the Western Premier League, which is the same level in the pyramid as the Wessex Premier League.

A victory over Brislington would see Wimborne progress to face Southern League side Clevedon Town.

Hamworthy United go into their tough tie at Willand Rovers in good spirits, having ended Bournemouth Poppies' unbeaten start to the season on Wednesday night.

Hammers boss Phil Simkin is aware of the tough task facing his charges at Rovers, who are currently second in the Western Premier League, tomorrow (3pm).

He said: "We've got a very tough weekend. I've been to watch them, they're a very useful side.

"But we go there a lot more confident after the performance against Poppies.

"We're hoping to go there and give them a run for their money and, at the very least, bring them back (for a replay)."

Mark Kenway (ankle) is missing for Hammers but Carl Chivers is fit to travel with the squad after recovering from a car accident.

Dawlish Town or Bishops Cleeve await the winners in the next round.

Christchurch have perhaps the trickiest of the ties as they host Southern League South and West side Didcot Town.

"It's just a case of going out, enjoying ourselves and seeing what we can do," said Christchurch boss Graham Kemp.

"It's all on the day. If we're prepared and they're under-prepared we might be able to do something."

Kemp's charges go into the game in good form. They won both their bank holiday league fixtures - 4-2 at Downton and 2-1 at Brading Town.
