DORSET’S Phil Loose won his fourth straight ITF Seniors title of the year at the FILA St George’s Hill Seniors Open.
The 39-year-old, who manages and coaches at Wimborne Tennis Club, overcame David Gaterell 6-0, 6-1 in the final of the grass court event in Weybridge, Surrey.
Loose had progressed via a walkover from his semi-final having already beaten Asad Khan 6-0, 6-1.
He said: "I’m so pleased to have won another tournament and I’m looking forward to playing in Cyprus in October, and am hoping to break into the top 20 in the world."
Coach Rob Butler said: “These are exciting times as I feel Phil has a lot more to offer and if he trains hard, he could break into the top 10 and then, who knows?”
Loose would like to thank David Lloyd Southampton for the use of their facilities for his training.
