GEORGIA Hall insists she is “very calm” heading into one of the biggest weekends of her career.
The Wimborne-based star today cranked up the heat on her rivals at the top of the Women’s British Open leaderboard.
A four-under-par 68 allowed the former Oakmead College pupil to move to nine under overall after another bogey-free effort on day two at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
The 22-year-old is bidding to become the first English winner of the event since Karen Stupples in 2004.
Hall told Sky Sports: “I feel very calm and there is a lot of golf still to be played – anything can happen out there. I am going to stay patient.
“I am very happy to go bogey-free so far. My course management has been key and I have managed to hole some good putts.”
At last week’s Gary Player invitational, Hall played alongside American Tom Lehman, who won the 1996 Open Championship at the same venue.
Hall added: “He advised me to lay up short of all the bunkers off the tee and play it as a longer golf course.
“I quite like hitting four or five irons into par fours. That’s what I am doing. My three and four irons have been key this week.”
