HAMWORTHY Cricket Club won the Dorset Funeral Plan League team-of-the-month award for June after five straight wins.
The Division One table-toppers defeated Portland RT, Compton House, Broadstone, Poole Town and Cerne Valley during the sun-kissed month.
Led by all-rounder Sam Stroud, Hamworthy have scored heavily with Steve Clifford among the runs.
Sean Mulley, Matt Avery and Joe Downing have all starred with the ball and the team is aiming for an undefeated season.
Stroud said: “We are a young team and have developed since last year. We play on a great pitch at home which has been good for batting on.
“The top order has really scored heavily and they’ve been backed up by the bowlers who took all Broadstone II’s wickets for just 73.”
Peter Douch from sponsors Dorset Funeral Plan said: “There were several teams throughout the leagues who performed well over June, but Hamworthy really impressed.
“It’s very encouraging to see a young team perform so consistently, they’ve certainly built on last year.
“If they carry on like this, they’ll be in the Premier league next season and it looks like they have the players to make an impact.”
