ELLINGHAM & Ringwood suffered a 35-25 defeat at the hands of Hampshire One high-fliers Bognor at Parsonage Barn Lane.
The hosts conceded an early try before hitting back with a penalty from centre Josh Butcher.
Bognor responded with another unconverted try, but Ellingham scored a well-worked try through wing three quarter Matt Raybould, which Butcher converted along with a penalty goal.
Bognor went on to score two further unconverted tries to lead 15-13 at half-time.
Ellingham started the second half strongly with a try from lock forward Tim Linford, converted by Butcher.
Bognor then scored a further two tries and a penalty before Raybould scored his second try.
Bognor then killed off the game with a well-taken drop goal to earn an important away bonus point win.
- New Milton’s second-half fight-back proved in vain as they suffered a 37-26 defeat against London Three South West rivals Old Tiffinians.
The south London outfit raced into a 29-5 lead at the break with Ben Russell mustering Milton’s only points with a try.
However, it was a different story in the second half, sparked by Ryan Morrell who ran from the halfway line and through a host of attempted tackles to touch down.
Further tries from Ciaran Johnston and man of the match Tom Wood – with all three second-half tries well converted by Adam Lavis – saw them close the gap, although they were unable to overhaul their opponents.
Milton: D Smith, Booker, Hynd, Wood, Corbett, Treacey, Russell, Bew, Johnston, Lavis, Oliver, N Smith, Conacher, Morrell, O'Regan. Replacements: Machin, George, Swamers.
