POOLE Town boss Tom Killick wants his entire set-up to “take responsibility” for their poor run of form.

Dolphins have lost four of their past five games in National South, with their most recent defeat coming in a 2-1 home reverse against Hungerford on Monday.

With Poole languishing in 15th in the table having picked up seven points from seven games, Killick is keen for the character in his dressing room to show.

He told the Daily Echo: “It’s an easy place to be at a football club when things are going well.

“It’s much more difficult when you are having a little spell like this and you have to learn how to deal with it.

“The way to deal with it first of all is by not looking to deflect blame to other people. That’s an easy thing we all do in all walks of life.

“I think it’s important that we all take responsibility for what is going wrong.

“The team becoming divisive is an easy thing that could happen and they are things that can’t happen.”

Poole have a good opportunity to get back on track tomorrow when they make the trip to rock-bottom Whitehawk (3pm).

The Hawks are yet to win a league game this season, picking up just one point.

“To me, the opposition is fairly immaterial,” added Killick.

“It’s just about us trying to be a lot better in the areas we need to be better in. If we do that, results start to look after themselves.

“I have absolute faith in them as a group. I am not starting to scream and shout and say I am going to get rid of them, start again, or get in new people.

“I have a strong belief in them and I am frustrated because I feel we are playing below our level and they are achieving below what they should be.”

Killick is hoping Will Spetch will be fit after injuring his hand on Monday.

Luke Burbidge was also carrying an ankle problem but Jake Smeeton is set to return.

The loan deals for Portsmouth pair Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jez Bedford are set to expire after tomorrow’s clash.
