BOSS Tom Killick is keen to see Poole Town get off to a positive start as they embark on their second National South campaign today.
The Dolphins, who finished fifth last season, visit Weston-super-Mare who are seen as rank outsiders by the bookmakers at odds of 50-1 to land the crown.
But Killick, whose team is priced at 10-1 with most outlets, will not be taking the Seagulls lightly.
He told the Daily Echo: “Fortunately for us they played Salisbury in a friendly on Saturday so we were able to have them watched and I have a bit of information on them.
“They are a vibrant and energetic team and it’s a hard start for us first game up. I do think it’s important for us to get a good start.
“It’s a tough fixture being away from home but we have to try to get something from it.
“Confidence is such a valuable commodity and, if you do start well, you can go from strength-to-strength."
Poole host promoted Bognor Regis Town at the Black Gold Stadium on Tuesday.
