PRESIDENT Ken Stewart says Wimborne Town are still inviting applications for the role of chairman – and admits the delay is slowing developments on Matty Holmes's future.
Two candidates were interviewed for the Cuthbury position but one of these figures withdrew his application, while the other did not turn up for a second interview.
Stewart told the Daily Echo: "We don't want to stop any one else coming in at this point. If anybody out there wants to have a go, they can talk to us.
"We are doing our damnedest to find someone."
Magpies boss Holmes is keen to resolve his future as his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
Stewart added: "I'm unable to give Matty clear instructions at this precise time. Hopefully, if we can get things together then we might be able to come up with something in a few weeks.
"With the run of form we're on, I don't want to lose Matty. He has done a tremendous job and we could see the fruits of that next season."
Wimborne will hope to extend to four matches their unbeaten run when they host Shortwood United in Southern South & West tomorrow (3pm).
