GLYN Treagus followed up his sublime 94 with a five-wicket haul as Dorset piled the pressure on Cornwall at Truro.
The Bashley opener took the crucial wicket of Matt Robins (88) before cleaning up the tail as Cornwall edged to 301 all out - a lead of just 38.
Darren Cowley was forced into action as an emergency seamer after James Eliot-Square pulled up with a knee injury and the Dorset skipper chipped in with two wickets, along with Matt Metcalfe (2-65) and Simon Watkins (1-39).
But manager Sean Walbridge saved the plaudits for debutant Nick Park, who was on 54 not out at the close of play, helping Dorset to 161-3 - an overnight lead of 123.
Walbridge said: "I'm really pleased for Nick, on his Championship debut, and we're hopeful he can go on to make three figures tomorrow.
"He's in great touch and he got runs for Bournemouth at the weekend, which is pleasing to see."
Park plundered eight fours in his half-century after Treagus (23), Tom Webley (34) and Ben Lawes (34) had all been dismissed.
Night watchman Matt Metcalfe was unbeaten with Park on four.
Walbridge added: "We've put ourselves in with a really good chance of victory.
"The first session tomorrow before lunch is going to be really crucial."
