EDDIE Mitchell has said he would like Tatnam to become Poole Town’s permanent home as his search for a suitable venue continues, reports Jack Amey.

Mitchell accepted an invitation to join the board of directors when he extended until May 2016 his option to purchase a 51 per cent stake in the club.

Speaking ahead of Poole Town’s 1-0 victory over Leamington in a top-of-the-table clash yesterday, he told the Daily Echo: “I came on board to find a permanent home for the club and feel that it is a harder task than I thought it was and need more time.”

When pressed on whether he had any locations in mind, Mitchell said: “Hopefully, this one here.”

Mitchell first acquired a two-year option to purchase a 51 per cent stake in the Dolphins in December 2013 as he started his search for a permanent home.

He added: “Firstly, I need to get FA approval. But once that has been rubber-stamped, it is important to understand more about the club and really dig deeper to see how promising it is.”

Talking about how far the club could go, Mitchell said: “As far as any football club. It is in the lap of the gods – it is on the pitch.

“As you can see from the league table, we are doing alright and, hopefully, that will carry on.”
