POOLE Town have signed Gosport Borough hotshot Jamie White on an initial month-long loan, subject to FA ratification.
The 25-year-old former Southampton youngster made his name with a prolific record of 37 goals in 73 matches for Salisbury City, helping the Whites to promotion to non-league’s top flight.
Prior to that, he shot to prominence with Winchester City where he bagged 51 goals in 32 appearances in the Wessex League.
White briefly represented Bristol Rovers in the Conference Premier last season before being snapped up by Sutton United. He joined Gosport over the summer.
Manager Tom Killick told the Daily Echo: “Primarily because of Richard Gillespie’s injury problems, I have been looking to sign someone for a little while.
“Gosport feel Jamie needs to get some games following his injury so it is a brilliant development for us. We have a lot of games coming up and he is proven at the level above so should help us a lot.
“I am sure they will be looking to get him back but hopefully, he can have the same sort of impact Justin Bennett did a couple of seasons ago.”
