CHRISTCHURCH have sacked manager Adie Arnold with immediate effect.

The Priory boss has been relieved of his duties after a tumultuous 16 months in charge during which the Hurn Bridge club was relegated from the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division.

Former Verwood Town manager Arnold was appointed in May 2014 but found results hard to come by having replaced predecessor Michael Cuffie.

Their bid to bounce straight back has hit the buffers so far with one FA Cup victory in seven matches in all competitions this season.

Christchurch suffered a 3-1 home league defeat to Amesbury Town this afternoon, leaving them second bottom of Wessex One with one point from three league games.

The club has yet to announce whether a caretaker boss will be appointed.
