GEORGIA Hall labelled as “a fantastic experience” her first Major as a professional after she bowed out of the US Women’s Open.
The 19-year-old from Bournemouth shot an eight-over-par 78 in a thunderstorm-delayed first round at Lancaster Country Club, Pennsylvania.
She was swiftly back out on the course to card six-over-par and move to 14-over, eventually missing the cut by 10 shots.
Despite missing out on third and fourth rounds, Hall was in buoyant mood afterwards.
She tweeted: “What a fantastic experience this week! Disappointed I didn’t make the cut, didn’t hit enough greens.
“I’m happy I gave myself the opportunity to play in such a prestigious event. Can’t wait to prepare for my next tournament and get back on European soil!”
Hall could return to Ladies European Tour action when the Scottish Open – one of the richest events on the circuit – takes place on July 24.
The former Oakmead College pupil, who turned professional in July last year, will be keen to to build on a positive start to life on tour which has seen her earn more than 20,000 euro from five events.
Hall is yet to miss a cut on the Ladies European Tour in her first full year as a pro.
