FORMER Cherries striker Alan Connell has signed for Southern League title hopefuls Poole Town.
As revealed exclusively by the Daily Echo this morning, the 32-year-old striker today penned a one-year contract with the Dolphins.
Connell has more than 300 Football League appearances to his name, including 104 for the Dean Court club and played 44 times for the Bradford side that won promotion from League Two and reached the League Cup final in 2013.
The Penn Hill-based frontman went on to feature for the Bantams in League One as recently as April 2014 before briefly linking up with Grimsby in the top flight of non-league football last season.
He then signed for Havant & Waterlooville, managed by ex-Cherries boss Lee Bradbury, but an injury-blighted campaign saw him restricted to nine starts and a total of 20 appearances for the Hawks.
