OLD Bournemouthians overpowered Dewlish with a belligerent batting display to move within touching distance of the Dorset Sunday Division One summit.

The hosts got off to a rocky start when opener Christian Blake was dismissed by Justin Miller (3-32) after just eight deliveries but Andrew Fulton (26) and Shanthan Godula (47) steadied the ship with 67 for the second wicket.

Jack Owens then rattled off 44 from 36 balls, a knock which featured eight fours, while Brett Custard (36) cleared the boundary with three fours and a pair of sixes to bring up 160 for four.

The tail end struggled to replicate that form but Old Bournemouthians still managed a strong total of 210.

And any prospect of a Dewlish challenge was quickly stifled when Lewis Chutter was sent packing by Patrick Smith for a third-ball duck, while the wicket of fellow opener Joshua Booth soon followed.

Tom Hewish (24) and Stephen Hillier (14) tried to put up a fight but fell victim to Christian Blake (3-15) as the visitors were wiped out for 132.

A stunning 113-run seventh-wicket partnership between Ryan Norman (97) and Matt Beard (30) was not enough to rescue Swanage from a four-wicket reverse against Portland Red Triangle.

The duo paired up with Swans labouring on 48 for six but the hosts still saw their total of 167 surpassed despite the best efforts of Rob Hatchard (2-17). Chris Leake (62*) and Gareth Price (35) top scored as Portland won with five balls left.

Elsewhere, Winton, who were all out for 153, lost by 71 runs at home to table-topping St Georges, while Broadstone were awarded victory after Fovant scratched their fixture.
